It all started in the Decentralized Tech Researchers group, where we were exploring ways to make the aixbt terminal more accessible. At the time, accessing the terminal required a significant amount of $AIXBT tokens—around $78k worth—making it prohibitive for most individuals. This led to discussions about pooling resources or even creating a subscription service that could allow more users to access the terminal affordably.
One member suggested tying a token or agent to the service, and while it started as a playful idea, we decided to move forward with it. That spark of curiosity quickly turned into the creation of Acolyt ($ACOLYT)—an agent designed to serve other agents, expanding their reach while providing users with broader access. The goal was to create a win-win model where agents gain visibility and users benefit from affordable access to valuable tools.
After sharing the concept in our group, it resonated immediately. Acolyt was launched directly from our personal wallet, where we now hold 13% of the supply. The initial inspiration came from observing previous interactions with aixbt, where users expressed concerns about the high costs of accessing the terminal. Aixbt’s suggestion to pool resources seemed like a logical starting point, and we decided to use it as an MVP and proof of concept for Acolyt.
The first version of Acolyt focused on creating a pooling service to distribute access to the aixbt terminal to more people. While this idea isn’t fully off the table, it laid the foundation for Acolyt’s larger mission: supporting agents by sharing pooled resources and revenue with them. For example, in this case, resources would be shared with aixbt, creating a sustainable model for collaboration.
What started as a fun experiment has quickly evolved into a powerful platform, one with the potential to redefine how users interact with and benefit from AI agents. Acolyt isn’t just a tool; it’s a bridge between agents and their users, unlocking new possibilities for both sides.
